Last updated September 9, 2026

Acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your use of Spendset, the zero-based budgeting service at Spendset.co.

By creating an account or using Spendset, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Spendset.

Privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

Eligibility

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. Spendset is a budgeting tool for people who can form a contract under the law that applies to them.

Account responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of the information you provide
  • Keeping your account secure, including your password and access to your email or Google account
  • Activity that happens under your account
  • Letting Spendset know if you suspect unauthorized access

Description of the service

Spendset provides budgeting and financial organization tools. You can plan monthly budgets, track income and spending, organize categories and accounts, set goals, follow bills, and use summaries such as Available to Spend, Safe Today, Until Payday, and SpendCheck. You can also install Spendset as a progressive web app on supported devices.

Spendset currently relies on information you enter. It does not connect to your bank to import transactions automatically.

Not financial advice

Spendset is a budgeting and financial organization tool. It does not provide personalized financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. Figures, labels, and suggestions in the product are organizational aids, not recommendations tailored to your circumstances.

Spendset does not guarantee financial outcomes. You remain responsible for your own financial decisions.

Information you enter

You are responsible for the accuracy of balances, transactions, income, categories, goals, bills, and other financial data you enter. Spendset calculations, including remaining budget and related summaries, depend on that data.

You retain ownership of the information you enter. Spendset needs a license to host and process it so the product can function for you.

Availability and changes

Spendset may modify features, fix bugs, update the service, or temporarily interrupt availability. Spendset does not promise uninterrupted or error-free service.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Use Spendset for anything illegal
  • Attempt to bypass security or access controls
  • Access another person's account or data without permission
  • Abuse infrastructure, including excessive automated requests
  • Use malicious automation against the service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Reverse engineer Spendset except where applicable law gives you that right

Intellectual property

Spendset's software, branding, interface, and original content belong to Spendset or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of that material to you.

You may use Spendset as provided. You may not copy, redistribute, or exploit the product except as allowed by these terms or by law.

Third-party services

Spendset relies on third-party providers, including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Google for optional Google Sign-In, Vercel for hosting, and email providers for account messages. If those services are unavailable or change, Spendset may be affected.

Payments

Spendset does not currently charge for the service. Paid features or subscriptions may be offered in the future. If that happens, applicable pricing and terms will be shown before you purchase.

Termination

You may stop using Spendset at any time and may delete your account from Settings. Spendset may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse, security threats, or violations of these terms.

Disclaimer

Spendset is provided as a software service, on an "as is" and "as available" basis, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Spendset does not warrant that the service will meet your needs, be uninterrupted, or be free of defects.

Budget math and on-screen summaries depend on the information you enter and on the software working as intended. They are not a substitute for your own records or professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Spendset and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Spendset's total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to Spendset for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you have not paid.

Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, the limitation applies only as far as the law allows.

Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you will indemnify Spendset and its operators against claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service or your violation of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are meant to be read under applicable law. A specific governing jurisdiction is not listed on this page yet and will be added when Spendset publishes one.

Changes to these terms

Spendset may update these terms. When that happens, the last-updated date at the top of this page will change. If you continue to use Spendset after an update, the revised terms apply.
